Ealing Removals

The work

Ordinary removals, shared staircases

The lifting is the same as anywhere. What is specific to this borough is that most of the route belongs to somebody else.

The survey measures the route, not the rooms

The gate, the path, the communal hall, the half-landing turn, and the flight above it. A room count tells us the volume; the route tells us whether the volume can get to the street.

We protect what is not yours

The hall floor, the walls, the banister, the newel and every flight we pass through, as standard. Damage to communal property is a dispute with neighbours rather than a snag with us, which is why we would rather over-protect.

We speak to the other flats

Before the day, explaining what is happening and when, and asking for bikes and buggies to come out of the hall. It prevents nearly every problem a conversion move actually has.

We handle the parking

Most of central Ealing is in a controlled zone, so a bay has to be formally suspended. We apply at both ends where both are controlled. The notice period is the constraint, which is why an early approximate date beats a late confirmed one.

Packing, if you want it

Full packing, or just the kitchen and the fragile things, itemised separately so you can see it and decline it.

Where we work

Across the borough — Ealing Broadway, West Ealing, Northfields, Pitshanger, South Ealing, Hanwell, Acton, Perivale, Greenford, Northolt, Southall, Castle Bar — plus moves in and out to anywhere in the UK. A great many of our jobs are Ealing flats heading out of London entirely, and the Ealing end is still the difficult end.

What every quote covers

1

Every shared part surveyed

The gate, the path, the hall, the stair, the bins and the street — not just the rooms you are moving out of.

2

Full communal protection

Hall floor, walls, banister, newel and every flight we pass through. It is not your paintwork and we treat it that way.

3

Parking suspensions applied for

At both ends where both are in a controlled zone, in good time rather than at the last minute.

4

Dismantling and reassembly

Beds, wardrobes and anything assembled in the room, with fixings bagged and labelled to the item.

5

A word with the neighbours

We will knock and explain what is happening and when. It costs nothing and it prevents almost every problem a conversion move has.

6

Bins moved and put back

Because they are always in the way and it is nobody else’s job.

Tell us which part of the house you are

Both addresses, roughly how much there is, and which flat — ground, upper, top or garden. That one word tells us more about the job than the room count does.
