Privacy policy
This policy explains what Ealing Removals does with the personal information you give us, and what rights you have over it. It applies to this website and to enquiries made through it.
What we collect
When you complete the quote form we collect your name, telephone number, email address, the pickup and drop-off addresses for the move, the moving date if you give one, and anything you write in the notes field. If you send photographs of the stair or the approach, we hold those too.
We do not set advertising or tracking cookies. Where we use a spam protection service on the quote form, that service may process technical information about your browser in order to tell a person from an automated submission.
Why we hold it
- To prepare and send you a quotation for the move you have asked about.
- To apply to the local authority for a parking bay suspension at your addresses.
- To arrange and carry out the move if you go ahead.
- To answer questions you put to us.
- To meet record-keeping obligations that apply to us as a business.
The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to an enquiry you have made, and — once you book — performance of the contract between us.
Your neighbours
Where we speak to other residents in your building before a move, we tell them only that a removal is happening, on which day, and roughly when the communal parts will be in use. We do not give them your name, your contact details or where you are going.
Who else sees it
Us, and the crew allocated to your move. Where a parking suspension is required we give the local authority the address and the date. Nobody else.
We do not sell your information and we do not pass it to anyone for marketing.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become bookings are kept only while they may still be useful to you, and then deleted — including any photographs you sent. Records relating to a completed move are kept for as long as our insurance, tax and legal record-keeping obligations require, and then deleted.
Your rights
- Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct anything that is wrong.
- Ask us to delete it, where we are not required to keep it.
- Object to our use of it, or ask us to restrict that use.
- Ask for it in a portable format.
- Complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office if you are unhappy with how we have handled it.
Contacting us about this
Write to hello@ealingremovals.uk and we will deal with it. If you ask us to delete information, we will tell you plainly if there is anything we are obliged to retain and why.
